Faceless Puppy – The Chill of Fall!

on September 30, 2013

We’re celebrating the passing of our humid, miserable summer and the start of a beautiful fall with crisp air and gorgeous leaves that energize puppies and humans alike! LOL – you can’t tell that I love fall and cooler temps, can you? 😉

On these lovely fall mornings, I have to drink my coffee quicker than usual because it cools off pretty quickly. Mornings in the house are quite cool, but I refuse to turn the heat on until October. Mid-October, hopefully! Besides, the sun and low 70 degree afternoon temps warm us up enough a little later in the day – that’s what layers are for! 🙂

Daisy’s thick double coat keeps her warm, but today it seemed she wanted the help of her favorite fuzzy blanket to take the chill off her nose….and face….

Hey, it's cold in here!

Hey, it’s chilly in here!

I know my nose is supposed to be cold, but this is ridiculous!

I know my nose is supposed to be cold, but this is too much!

Hope you’re all having a beautiful fall too!

What a cutie you are Daisy! We love the chilly weather too. If it hasn’t rained, Maya and I sit on the back patio porch swing. I have a cup of coffee, Maya cuddles, and Pierson looks out over the yard in hopes one of those wild rabbits living under our shed will be dumb enough to come out. 🙂

  2. Fall is my number one favorite season. I love the cooling off.

Daisy, we all love Fall too! It’s a pretty time of year. Mamma always drinks her coffee quickly because the kids and of course I love the smell of it!

    Cute!
Yes, fall is definitely a favourite time of year for us – warm lattes, layered clothing, and changing leaves. Can’t get much better!

We are all creatures of summer so we don’t even like cold noses.

  6. Fall is wonderful! All the smells, the leaves and the misty mornings. I hope you will enjoy this fabulous season as much as me Daisy!

  7. Our days are still quite warm, but like Daisy, I can bury my face in a blanket or a throw for at least a little while in the morning chill! I don’t turn heat on yet either, but this morning was the first time I actually thought about it! 🙂 Of course, it will still be 90 degrees later this week. But the mornings and evenings definitely have a chill to them, and we welcome that! 🙂 Hope you and Daisy have a wonderful week–hopefully some of the high activity surrounding your aunt’s relocation is coming to a close and this really difficult year will end with some rest! I hope, I hope! 🙂

Actually the work surrounding my aunt’s relocation is at its peak right now. We brought her down for her medical assessment today and we have a move-in date of 10/8, next week. BUT I still have tons of work to do; I think we’re about at the midway point….at least I HOPE we’re that far along! Sometimes it’s hard to gauge because new, unexpected things crop up all the time. And her house hasn’t sold yet either – she’ll have enough money for 10 months, then we NEED the money from the sale of the house to carry her through to the 2 year mark, when Medicaid helps out. Once she’s settled in, I’ll be visiting her frequently, so I’ll have to figure that in to my days as well. Whew!

      • Oh my goodness! What you’re sharing about your aunt’s care is exhausting, and I know you aren’t doing it for praise, but I must say I admire your hard work on her behalf. I think as the population continues to age we all have a lot of questions about the future and hope that we’ll have loved ones who will help us in the last season of our lives. It requires a lot of tenacity and patience! Let’s hope the house sells without much delay. That would give you more peace of mind. You guys need 2014 to be a “do-over!” But you gotta get there, right? ox

Daisy knows how to keep warm!
I love the fall but we don’t get it here in the sub tropics 😦 We have just gone into our Spring but already it feels like summer – too hot, too quick this year; I guess we are in for a stinker of a summer this year. Can I come visit with Poppy? She and Daisy would be great pals!

Oh poor Daisy – Maybe you need a nose hat?! 🙂

    I hope you’re having a fun day,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  13. Mags Corner says:

Sweet Daisy you are adorable even with your nose and face covered. Stay nice and warm sweet girl. Still warm and humid here so our noses are not needing covers yet. Hugs and nose kisses

  14. Clowie says:

Daisy, you look really cute like that. Out cats hide their noses with their paws to keep warm!

  15. kolytyi says:

Oh, Daisy, I think you are really sympathetic towards us! We have recently November-weather (after October-weather in September and Africa-weather in August).

I think Daisy should live in Indonesia 😉

We feel ya Daisy! Our mommy doesn’t like to turn the heat on either! Something about the electric bill?

  20. Andrea says:

Brr. We agree! It’s freezing here too! Only daddy is the one who broke down and turned up the heat. I’m afraid to see our electric bill!

Here’s hoping you’ll stop by and join us for NaNoWriMo!
