Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven

The Good, Crazy, & Adorable Life of One Havachon Puppy

Monday Mischief: The Face – And Place – Of Trouble

Escape. It’s all about the escape.

I think one of the first things our pups do when we bring them home is — scope out each room for good “you-can’t-catch-me” places. Why? Because they know they’re going to be mischievous, and they need a good escape plan.

One of Daisy’s favorite spots has always been under the bed, but over the past few months, she’s picked a new one – underneath the dining room table.

Heeheehee! Catch me if you can!

It’s now her “go-to” hiding place if she senses an impending bath.

Haha! Just try to reach me through all these legs!

Maybe she forgot those chairs are movable?? 😉

Monday Mischief – One Busy, Frizzy Puppy

There’s always one way to know without stepping outside that dry, cool weather has returned – puppy ear frizz.

Daisy loves to play “mummy” – we throw her blanket over her, and she gets herself all wrapped up in it. She even walks around with it completely covering her until she bumps into things….maybe she’s secretly training to go into the Special Forces Night Ops Division? 😉

Shhh, don't tell anyone I'm in training....

Heehee they can't find me hidden in here!

Until she finally emerges with ears twice their size!

Bet you can't guess the adventure I just had! Umm, why are you laughing at me??

Peek-A-Boo Havachon’s Hide and Seek Game

I talked in another post about Daisy’s one-eyed Havachon Sneak Peek, but when I was looking through her pictures recently, I noticed that she’s a Peek-A-Boo Puppy at heart!

She loves being under, behind, or snuggled in something and staying really quiet, then getting all excited when we finally find her. We could swear she’s laughing – “Haha Mommy, I tricked you!” It’s either a game of Peek-A-Boo or Hide and Seek!

The theme for all these photos is peek —– peek —– peek! 🙂

Peek....

Daisy’s Under-Bed Hideaway

When I originally posted about Daisy’s little under-the-bed game of hide-and-seek, I never expected it to become one of her favorite play areas!

Halt! Who goes there?

She especially likes it before the bed in the master bedroom is made, because the comforter is touching the floor; that, coupled with the dust ruffle creates the perfect 2-layer entry-exit shield into her under-bed hideaway.

It’s like Daisy’s own little speakeasy, except no one knows the password to get in. Daisy does her funny little army crawl into her private retreat, making these crazy little grumbling sounds as she shimmies around under there. She dodges a couple of  plastic storage bins (good thing the bed a California king – it gives her plenty of room!) and scratches at their sides in an apparent attempt to either open them up and inspect their contents or rearrange what has become her own personal space – maybe she’s an interior designer at heart!

Just to see what was going on, one day DD went underneath the bottom of the comforter and dust ruffle at the edge of the bed. She brought the camera with her:

HEY! You can't come in here, this is a private Havachon club!

HAHA! You can't find me!

I must say that Daisy is not a good speakeasy hostess! She definitely didn’t like the fact that DD had crashed her little one-dog party. She issued little mini barking complaints, little closed-mouths things that were even funnier than her under-bed antics. Apparently she likes her private space to remain private.

Now that was fun!

Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are! A New Havachon Hiding Place

Well it’s becoming a regular thing these days – we lose Daisy in the house. Now that we know she likes hiding in small places, we’re finding this game pretty hilarious!

Recently we searched and searched for Daisy, and eventually found this:

Heeheehee! You can't see me!

Darn! You found me!

I'm not coming out! I like it in here!

She was under the end of my daughter’s bed, squished between storage tubs and a wood chest that’s at the end of the bed!

We can’t figure out how she maneuvered herself to turn around under there – sometimes I think she’s made of jelly – but somehow she managed it.

She found this entirely cozy and stayed there for quite some time. That was fine with us – there was nothing for her to get in trouble with!

Now we know that whenever we hear that telltale THUMP-THUMPETY-THUMP, Daisy’s crawling her way under the bed for another game of Hide and Go Seek. But of course, we’re always IT! 🙂

Daisy the Sneaky Havachon – More Sofa Wars

Well she’s done it again. I hadn’t been gone from the family room for more than 15 seconds when DD found this….

You'll never find me behind all these comfy blankets!

Daisy The Sneak was at it again. Last time she tried hiding on the couch behind the laundry basket; this time she thought she’d have better luck snuggling in behind a pile of soft fleece blankets.

Frankly, DD hated to make her get down from the sofa – she looked so warm and comfy there! But in the interest of  continuity in her training, she had no choice. We’re trying to get Daisy to understand that she can only come up on our laps when she’s invited and not jump onto the sofas at will. Actually, she does understand, she just chooses not to comply when she thinks she can get away with it!

This saga could run longer than the Rocky series!
