Daisy’s Christmas Tradition

on January 8, 2015

We have two Christmases here in the Daisy family – one out of state with family, and our favoriteΒ one (which we call our real Christmas) here at home with just the four of us.

But Daisy has one tradition that she honors no matter where we celebrate – we call it “paper herding”:

Look at all the pretty paper presents I've collected!

Let's see...one...two...three...yep, looks like they're all here...

And then, of course, comes our annual Christmas tradition…

Oh, I HATE this part of the holidays!

We hope all our blogging buddies had fun Christmases too! Do your pets have any holiday traditions?

We’re part of the Thursday Barks and Bytes blog hop!

Haha our pups love the paper best too!

Previously Zoey didn’t open her own presents, I had to ‘help’ (ie. do it all for her!). This year however we were staggered when she eagerly began tearing open her gifts and all we had to do was sit back and watch – yay Zoey! πŸ™‚

Wow that must have been so much fun to see! Daisy doesn’t open her own presents either, she just chases the balled up paper from our gifts and herds them LOL! πŸ˜€

She does look happy!! No, no traditions here, pet or otherwise, any more.

She gets so excited when we all ball up the wrapping paper tightly as we open each package throw it – Daisy chases each paper ball and brings them back to make her little “herd”. It’s one of our favorite things!

LOL.. The paper looks way fun. And of course the bow is very cute.

Too cute. My pups also go nuts at the sound of tearing wrapping paper. I guess ripping/tearing sounds in general are a sure sign of fun for a pup.

I hope Daisy found this under the Christmas tree as well: http://www.isds.org.uk/newsroom/international-sheep-dog-news-magazine/ πŸ™‚

Looks like Daisy has a blast!

She’s so dang cute! So she actually collects the wrappings? My dogs have no real Christmas traditions (unless you call eating an ornament a tradition.) πŸ˜‰ They are just happy there is a day we can all spend together.

Thank you for joining the blog hop!

She actually does collect the balled-up wrapping paper, chasing each ball when we throw it for her, and she brings each one back (which she never does when we throw a toy for her!) one piece at a time and puts them all together like that. Same thing every year. It’s really funny and she gets so excited over it!

  8. Haha Daisy got quite a collection of papers. πŸ™‚ The bow is cute too. Thanks for joining the hop!

  9. hahahaha… now you are the christmas star :o) Easy has a weird tradition, he first opens all treatbags and eats what he can get… and it ends in the back yard where he celebrates a puke-pawty :o(

The paper can be the best part, can’t it? I put the dogs’ presents in gift bags this year, but they wanted to help me open my wrapped presents. So I guess we know what the new tradition will be!

  11. Oh we love some good paper!!! You sure do know how to have fun Miss Daisy!

  12. Daisy really gets into it! I wrapped gifts for Zena and she sniffed around, but didn’t open them. No tearing, shredding–apparently no curiosity. I had to unwrap them and give them to her, and even then she wasn’t all that interested. I will have to get more creative. πŸ™‚

Sweet, adorable Daisy I can always depend on you for a smile or giggle. You are just sooooo cute. Looks like you had a great time in the wrapping paper, when you play with it, it makes a funny noise doesn’t it? Love, hugs and nose kisses

  15. Happy new year and best wishes to you and yours for health, happiness, peace & prosperity in 2015!
