The last batch of snow is still on the ground, and yesterday we got another big blast! Another foot of snow came down – it snowed for 12 hours straight, from around 5 AM through 5 PM. But it was a gorgeous snowfall – tons of flakes gently making their way straight down with no wind. Just making everything look beautiful.
I love that very special quiet that comes with a good snowfall, and how pristine everything looks. No cars moving, no outdoor garden equipment blaring, and everything is unified by a sparkling blanket of white. It’s exquisite.
Even our house was decorated in a sparkling icy fringe:
As I mentioned in a previous post, Daisy is staying outside longer and longer now that she’s wrapped up in her warm red puffy coat. Well, guess what? She’s starting to like the snow again! She seems to have a pattern. First she’s on Border Patrol all the way around the yard:
Then she takes DD on a wild run, zigzagging to and fro across the yard:
Now that’s the kind of snow fun I love to see a dog have! 😀 I can’t wait to introduce her to snowballs…. Tonight we’re supposed to get more snow – anywhere from 6 to 16 inches, depending on how the storm moves. Tomorrow it gets a bit scary, though, because the storm is supposed to turn into an ice storm, making driving extremely dangerous. They’re already telling us to stay home and off the streets. I don’t mind more snow, but ice storms are another thing!
I wuvwuvwuv your snowooowooooo!
Me too! 😀
Holy cow, that’s a ton of snow!! Where do you live?
We’re in the northeast – New Jersey, only about 20 minutes from the shore. We get hit by nor’easters, Canadian cold fronts, and whatever weather the midwest chases out. 😉 I don’t mind the cold weather and snow (as long as we don’t lose power!), but I hate it when we get stuck with hot, humid summers.
Oh wow! I love the icicles it looks a little like a gingerbread house now :o) Please stay warm and comfy and I hope you will get no damaging from the ice storm.
Shew, that is a lot a snow and ice on top of it…Please stay safe and warm friends…Daisy, I’m so glad you are loving the snow…Beautiful pics too!!!! Hugs
Thank you Trev! Hopefully everyone in the family will be working from home tomorrow. 🙂
I’m so lad she likes the snow again! We are getting our snow fall today. We haven’t played in it yet, but we will for sure. BTW, those ice cycles are so cool-looking. 🙂
Have fun in the snow! We love watching the icicles grow longer and longer by the hour – one of them is now 3/4 of the way to the ground and so THICK!
I’m soooo jealous of your lovely snow. Wish I was there playing in it too
We would have such fun playing in it together – I know you’d love the snow! 🙂
Good thing she has that warm coat! It is beautiful but we agree that ice storms can be pretty scary. Stay warm!
We will, Katie! Thanks!
So glad Daisy is having fun again. Stay safe and warm 🙂
We will Optie, thanks!
Nice to see Daisy having fun. We are getting more snow today…ugg!
When you talked about the quiet after the snow fall you brought back memories for mum, she’s never lived anywhere that really got much in the way of snow, but she remembers that feeling…. it’s not gonna happen here! This week we awoke a couple of mornings to a little bit of rain, shocker! It’s been SO dry! The first morning I wouldn’t even go out, I don’t have a nice red jacket like Daisy!
Glad she’s having fun in the snow,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
I still think that over all the decades that some areas of the west have had major drought problems, there should have been some kind of pipeline constructed that could bring all the melting snow from the midwest out to you. The northeast and the midwest end up with too much water and flooding issues while CA and other areas need water! Doesn’t make sense!
This winter has been unbelievable! It looks like Daisy is having lots of fun and that is great… 🙂
Yes, finally she’s acting like a “real dog”! LOL 😉
That is a gorgeous snow and that first picture is fabulous! It is good to see sweet Daisy out enjoying the snow and racing back to the house. Stay warm and enjoy the snow. You are doing great sweet Daisy, just keep it up sweetie. Hugs and nose kisses
Thank you Mag! Seeing Daisy romping through the snow really underscores the fact that her leg has healed well….though she still chooses to hop around the house! Very strange, but who can figure the Havachon mind? 😉
Ohhh so jealous of all of your snow! The pups love to play in it and I love how pretty and quiet everything is!
Hugs, Carrie (Myfie, Ellie and Millie) x
Wish you were all here to play in the snow together!
We had snow last nite and Mazie was thrilled! The Puffs were troopers and went out and did their business. Had to carry Anne back in since her feet got too cold. Wish they would wear their coats and boots…..silly little girls Daisy looks so happy, if they did they could have fun like her!
Marty’s Mom
We’re so glad Daisy is finally taking to the snow! She’s not too happy when we blow dry her after her little runs, though…. 😉
Sounds like the red puffy coat is keeping her warmer. That is great to hear being as cold and snowy as it is this year!
Wow – crazy icicles! Very cool.
Yes, stay home and stay warm! Glad Daisy is embracing winter!
I cannot wait to see pics showing how Daisy rolls you in the snow and how you snowball through the garden! 🙂
Intense icicles!
No need to call a team of decorators. You’re rigth! Mother nature has done the work and your house is amazingly nice!
Thank you!
