Monday Mischief: The Deconstructed “Buffet”

on July 1, 2013

Have you noticed how “deconstructed” recipes have caught on over the past few years? There’s “deconstructed lasagna”, “deconstructed eggplant parmesan”, “deconstructed stuffed cabbage” – on and on it goes. The “art of deconstructed food” is so popular that there are websites dedicated to restaurants that offer it.

Well, Daisy has her own version – the “deconstructed garbage”. It’s her version of a buffet filled with – ahem – “interesting” selections. And here’s a small sign that she’s been hitting the buffet line:

"Deconstructed" trash.

“Deconstructed” trash.

Usually there’s a long trail, but this time she found what she wanted right away. Fortunately, I discovered her little excavation quickly, before she had a chance to further deconstruct the tissue of choice. Here she is with one of her famous “I’m-just-sitting-here-innocently” looks – which always comes after she does something mischievous. (I’d found the targeted tissue nestled tightly between her paws.)

What is it with dogs and used tissues? Milo does that too, in fact all our dogs have done it but seem to outgrow the urge as they age.

  2. Drats caught red pawed Daisy. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. The bin is always like magnetic :o) and tissues (used) are the best treat ever. Have a great monday Miss Innocence.

  4. How could you think that little angel has been browsing the buffet?! LOL

When she looks like that I would find an excuse for her and the napkin!

I know what you mean! I can never get mad when she gets that cute little “uh oh” look, which is probably why she just keeps on deconstructing the trash. 🙂

    Hey Daisy,

I totally support your plea of innocence buddy! 🙂 Cos if you weren’t allowed it there would be a lid on it, right?! Tee Hee

    Have fun,

Your (mischief attorney) pal Snoopy 🙂

Hey that’s a good point Snoopy! My family used to keep the bathroom doors closed, but then they kept forgetting so I got lucky. I’ll hire you as my MDA – Mischief Defense Attorney – next time I get caught! 😉

    hehehe I love tissues too:-)

  8. Marcie says:

At least it looks like yours doesn’t just knock the whole trash can down for better access. I eventually had to put my trash can in a different location.

  9. Kurome says:

Huahaha naughty Daisy! ck ck ck. Poor tissue has no chance against Daisy

  10. kolytyi says:

Of course Daisy is Pure Innocence! She didn’t committed any crime. Trash can is for useless things. She only re-cycled a napkin no longer needed by her pawrents. Why on earth pretends her mom that she has stolen a silk handkerchief or diamond ring???

  11. colonialist says:

Creative deconstruction takes place somewhere that a cat will get the blame. Surely you know THAT!?

  12. Surely you have accused the wrong dog. Someone, probably a cat, planted evidence. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have a cat. They’re sneaky that way.

Hahaha I’m sure Daisy agrees with you. There are a couple of huge cats roaming the neighborhood, I’m sure one sneaked in somehow and set her up. 😉

LOL Daisy is just going with the new trend (which btw I had to google…lol).

  14. Dogs N Pawz says:

Our Shiloh loved tissue and toilet paper. I never understood what was so great about it!

  15. onebluedog says:

Hehehe, this reminds me of a time when mom meant to call some food deconstructed, but instead she said decomposed 😛

  16. FleaByte says:

Oh how cute! But what on earth is deconstructed food?

    Daisy was framed!
