Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven

The Good, Crazy, & Adorable Life of One Havachon Puppy

Monday Mischief: The Opportunist Havachon

on November 12, 2012

The hurricane may have unnerved Daisy while it was here, but she certainly made up for lost time during the five-day blackout afterwards.

We had set up a bridge table with a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle in front of the fireplace during the blackout. To us it was a fun pastime; to a sneaky Havachon, it was 1,000 opportunities for mischief.

Who, me? Can’t you see how innocent I look?

During the light of day, we heard that unmistakable chewing sound coming from the area of the puzzle, which is nowhere near Daisy’s food bowl. DD called her over. Out from between the chairs and sofa came a head-down, slow-slinking pup – we knew that our dear marvelous, mischievous Daisy was back in action again.

As soon as DD approached her, she dropped what used to be a puzzle piece from her mouth. Now it’s garbage:

Destructo Pup turns her wrath on OUR toys!

I didn’t do it….it was dark…..it could have been anyone…….maybe they’re Daddy’s teeth marks….?

  1. 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle=1000 opportunities for mischief – that was my first thought too …funny, I like it ;o)

  2. You are far too cute and adorable to do anything wrong. It must have been S.O.D. (someotherdoggy) that did it.

  3. That is too funny a “Puzzle Chewing Puppy” 🙂 LOL.. Daisy’s back to her old tricks again, that didn’t take long.

  4. Mollie says:

Oh Daisy, you have more nerve than me, I need to take a leaf out of your book, that waz just great..BOL We hope everything is nearly back to normal, your end 🙂 xx00xx

What is it with dogs and paper/cardboard? It can’t taste or smell good but my dogs can’t resist chewing it.

  9. I guess that was just too many chances for one mischievous pup to ignore.

  10. Loy says:

Well, a pup has to do what a pup has to do! Hope you were able to piece together the other 999 pieces okay!

  11. You silly little munchkin! You definitely took Mischief Monday to good use at least! XD

  12. Bassetmomma says:

Poor Daisy! You get blamed for everything, don’t you! LOL! I love doing jigsaw puzzles too. It sounds like a great way to pass the time doing one by the fireplace. 🙂

  13. Oh my goodness this is funny! You have nothing much you CAN do except a giant puzzle, and Daisy eats “the parts!” I wonder if it was her way of entering into the family activity or perhaps she thought since you were all homebound all the focus should be on her! LOL! Sneaky little thing!

I thought while reading this how delightful to sit by the fire and do a puzzle, but I haven’t forgotten why you were there…that part isn’t so fun! 😦

    • raisingdaisy says:

That’s a good thought – maybe she WAS trying to take part in our puzzle playing! Doing the puzzle by the fire sure did have its charm, even though the reason wasn’t pleasant, but we’re continuing the tradition with fireside games on weekends. 🙂

  14. Hey Daisy, Jet here.

Considering the circumstances, we give you a PASS on any mischief achieved during this time period.

Hope you guys are mending now… and retain your power… Mom told us that after Hurricane Andrew, Casa Jet, had no power for 32 days! Yikes.

    • raisingdaisy says:

WOW 32 days?! That’s horrible! I can’t imagine that, especially now that nighttime temps are in the 30s. And thank you for the pass on my mischief, I’ll pass that idea along to my family! 🙂

  15. 2browndawgs says:

Haha when I read about the puzzle, I was thinking brown dawgs would eat those pieces and here our Daisy beat them to it. Who could be cross at such a cutie? 🙂

  16. Bella says:

I think you were just helping to make the pieces fit, right Daisy *wag wag wag*

  17. Hehehe Daisy!! I’m sure that was an evil bird with puzzle anger management issues and not cute little you 😉

  18. onebluedog says:

Of course it was not you Daisy! Anyone can see you are much too sweet for such mischief 🙂

  19. megtraveling says:

You know I believe Daisy – there are plenty of good explanations for what happened! Just let me think for a minute… 🙂

  20. snoopys@snoopysdogblog says:

    Ooooh Daisy,

Love the little blog makeover! 🙂

I can’t believe you weren’t allowed to also entertain yourself with the jigsaw, if it’s good enough for them, right?! 🙂

You’re such a great Mischief Maker buddy,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

    • raisingdaisy says:

Thanks Snoopy! Mom likes to change things up every so often. And I agree – I should have been able to play with that puzzle too! I mean, just because I don’t have thumbs to hold the pieces doesn’t mean I can’t play in a different way….. 😉

  21. Top marks for mischief Daisy! *Waggy tail*

  22. Clowie says:

    Daisy was framed!

  23. kolytyi says:

Oh, Daisy, I’m afraid that your Dad cannot so nicely chew on a puzzle piece as SOMEBODY did it, as it can be seen in pic No. 2! It must have been an extraordinarily cute being!

  24. The Hook says:

At least Daisy knows enough to live for the moment!

  25. Dogs N Pawz says:

You had to do something to keep yourself entertained!!!!

  26. Well, what else did they expect you to do Daisy, with no television or anything 😀

  27. Novroz says:

I think that’s a better way to play jigsaw…you have just invented a new game Daisy 😉
