Monday Mischief – Lunatic Squirrel!

on March 5, 2012

Is it the unseasonably warm weather that’s driven this squirrel crazy?? Is he climbing fruitlessly trying to find cooler weather for his thick winter coat? There’s no “nut rainbow” at the top of the screen outside our sliding door, so what are you looking for, Mr. Squirrel?

I was on the phone when I saw and heard this nutty visitor, so I hurriedly took less-than-great pictures with one hand.

What are you doing at the top of the screen, silly squirrel?

Didn’t find what you were looking for, eh?

Well that was a fruitless endeavor!

And where was Daisy, our Great Protector, during all this? Snuggled up on Big Blue, right in front of the screen and not even noticing what was going on right over her head!

I'm too comfy on Big Blue to watch for squirrels!

Hah! His leg is sticking out there in the top photo! πŸ™‚ Daisy looks like she’s just too comfortable to move… She sure loves that pillow, eh? πŸ™‚

  2. Bassetmomma says:

I would have chose the comfy blue bed over Mr. Squirrel too Daisy! LOL! We had a squirrel who used to jump on our front door screen every morning until I threw him some peanuts!

  3. Jan says:

Squirrels are evil creatures who enjoy taunting dogs. Best to just ignore them.

  4. Alfie Dog says:

Oh Daisy – you should at least have barked. πŸ™‚

  5. Chancy, Mumsy and Crew says:

Sweet Daisy we have a few of that squirrels relatives around here. We don’t blame you for not paying attention…they just come back and do it all over again and we get tired after awhile don’t we? Hugs and nose kisses

  6. Hey Daisy, Jet here. How can you resist a squirrel?????

  7. Haha,

Daisy how can you not be bothered by a Mischievous Squirrel? I go crazy when I see any Squirrel, though I have to sit really nicely by the door or I won’t get let out, but when I do I sprint to go and get it – game on!!

Thinking about it some more though, I don’t have a Big Blue……guess it must be pretty comfy, hey?!

I’m surprised Daisy wasn’t barking at the squirrel. I know Tiffy would have went wild:)

  9. barb19 says:

He’s a nosey little squirrel! Daisy must have been too comfortable on Big Blue to even notice he was there!

  10. BOL! Those pictures cracked us up, what a crazy guy!

    Good job there Daisy πŸ˜‰

That squirrel would have been toast if it were my dogs!

  14. nalasdogdays says:

Aww Daisy you cutie, I guess we should get Nala her own “Big Blue” if it’s so comfy that it beats chasing a squirrel!

It’s great to see you back again, Granny! I was really worried about you. But I knew no bladder issue could keep a strong Granny down for long! πŸ˜€

  17. Daisy is apparently right where she belongs! She is on her Big Blue throne where all doggy divas should be. Ha! Ha! By the way, that looks like a great place to be for nature watching. That must be one happy squirrel (and a very happy Daisy). πŸ™‚

    • raisingdaisy says:

That’s a great description – her “throne”! That sure is what it seems like. We have a bird feeder right outside of that glass door where Daisy always would watch (and bark at) squirrels, birds, and any other critters that happened to come along. But since Big Blue has been there, she literally turns her back on critter-watching and snoozes. Makes things in the house much quieter! πŸ™‚

  18. Dawn says:

Sounds like the squirrel was trying to tease Daisy but gave up because she wasn’t interested. The squirrels here love to tease our dogs!

    • raisingdaisy says:

Same thing here – last year we had a squirrel who came up to the glass door daily and just stood there taunting Daisy, staring at her. It drove her crazy!!
