Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven

The Good, Crazy, & Adorable Life of One Havachon Puppy

Monday Mischief – Daisy On High

on January 16, 2012

Look where I found Crazy Daisy last week!

Uh ohhh.....they caught me.....

Yup, she’s perched on top of the sofa. Not on the seat cushions – on the sofa back. She’s balanced between the hard frame and the removable cushions – not an easy task.

Why, you may ask, would Daisy choose to leap up there and risk breaking her leg rather than enjoy the soft cushions, blankets, and multiple pillows below her? Answer: The Lure Of The Pillow.

The one pillow that was separated from the rest. The small pillow was inadvertently left on top of the back cushion. To Daisy, this is irresistible – there must be something special about that pillow if it gets the highest ground.

If I look away and act nonchalant, maybe they won't notice me....

If it was safe for Daisy up there, we wouldn’t mind. But there’s just enough space between the sofa and the wall that she could easily get stuck and break a leg or even a hip; plus the cushions aren’t attached to the sofa, so this balancing act she’s doing is pretty risky.

Pushing the sofa back against the wall isn’t really an option for a number of reasons, so we’ll just have to remember never to leave a pillow up there again.

You have to take special precautions when you have such a mischievous little pup! πŸ˜€

Lol…Daisy is so sweet, you can’t help but love her, even when she’s being mischievous! Who could resist! πŸ˜€

You’re so right – on the rare occasion when I have to discipline her by putting her in the “naughty room” (aka laundry room) for two minutes, I laugh at her cuteness while I’m carrying her! It’s so hard to be stern with a sweet, cute pup!

We have a poodle that does the exact same thing. It drives my mom nuts! Our couch is not against the wall at all and she can not figure out why he has not killed himself yet!

  3. The Hook says:

Indiana Canine! Or better yet… Spider-Daisy!

  4. Alfie Dog says:

I’m too bit to perch on the cushions. It’s a shame. It looks comfy. Have a great time.

  5. Roxy’s favorite spot is the top of the couch back, on the cushions. Our couch isn’t against a wall though and she can see everything from there.

Tiffy loves to lounge on the top of the sofa too. They have a lot in common:)

Daisy is so cute, but I agree it isn’t safe. My sisters little dogs do it too. It might also be the lure of being higher up and closer to your level.

My dog Maya has a number of mischief stories. The funniest was the day she turned pink. As a Labrador, she loves water. One day when we went to a park with a water fountain, she bolted and I lost control of her leash. Next thing you know, my yellow Lab is playing in the fountain which had been dyed pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. Thankfully, other than the pink coat there were no side effects of the adventure.

  8. Just blog hopping around to say woof! *waggy tail*

Oh that Daisy! She might be small, but she sure has big determination. πŸ™‚

  10. Haha Daisy,

You sure know how to keep them on their toes hey?! I bet it was a great view up there?! You’re such a Daredevil – you rock!!

    Great Mischief Buddy,

    Your pal Snoopy πŸ™‚

Your Mom and Dad are a lot more understanding than mine! Of course, some time when I climb up that high the whole chair flips backwards. I guess 80 instead of 8 pounds will do that. Trooper my little buddy in the New years post likes high places too. He has a way of getting on top his humans refrigerator!

    • raisingdaisy says:

Wow – on top of the refrigerator! My family wouldn’t like it if I figured out how to do that! LOL Yes there’s a huge difference in what 80 pounds will do to a chair as opposed to my 15 pounds! πŸ˜‰

  12. Scrappy says:

oh oh…the top of the couch, yep…that is my favorite perch. my window to the world…mom is always worried i may fall off the balance beam. it could happen i guess. but Daisy, isn’t the view from up there where it’s at? Climb far, reach for the stars. don’t fall.

  13. Chancy, Mumsy and Crew says:

Oh, we would say that is great determination that paid off to get you to your favorite pillow. We are sure glad you didn’t fall from there sweet Daisy. You gotta keep your favorite pillow closer to the ground so you will be safe. You sure look cute up there though. Hugs and nose kisses

I have been reading about all of your lovely travel adventures! It IS different with a little dog isn’t it? Actually, the reason we bought the RV was because neither one of the girlz does very well on long car trips…and of course…they HAVE to come with us! It has worked out very well. Now…if only we could take the RV to the groomer and to the vet! πŸ™‚

Glad you had a fabulous holiday in Florida!! I SO could use a beach trip right now. But, that is not happening anytime soon…nice to hear from you! Daisy is positively precious!!

    • raisingdaisy says:

We’re finding that everything is different with a small dog than it was with a big dog. It’s practically like starting from scratch! I think it’s great that you bought an RV so you could bring your dogs with you when you travel. πŸ™‚

  17. Kame says:

Ow wow!! I didn’t know dog could do acrobat πŸ˜‰
You could be a big star in circus Daisy

  18. Bunk says:

I don’t understand you humans. Don’t worry, Daisy. I support you. I have the same tendancy and my humans give me pugs for it everyday. I think we should take the humans and put them on top of the couch and show them how fun it is.

  19. It’s funny how our pups can find a comfy niche almost anywhere. They’re great contortionists, so I suppose they’ll find a way to fit even in the tightest of spots!

  20. Hello Daisy…one of us is called Daisy too! (Well Daisy-Boo but its the same πŸ™‚ )
Our mums must have a good choice in names. BOL.

We have just stumbled across your blog and this post made us laugh, we think its great that we find new and interesting places to sit!

    Following your tails!
