Everyday Adventures in Havachon Heaven

The Good, Crazy, & Adorable Life of One Havachon Puppy

October Snowstorm!

on October 30, 2011

Wow, no one was ready for this! A weekend that started out like this:

….suddenly turned into this:

Yes, that’s a crazy snow/sleet mixture coming down in October!  Even the pumpkins didn’t look too happy….

And 4 inches later, ice took over:

Whoever heard of fall leaves frozen in ice?!

And before we knew it, our governor declared a state of emergency. But the last of our tomatoes already had their own emergency:

Snow-topped tomatoes weren't on the menu....

So we all snuggled up inside with cocoa, warm apple cider, games, movies, books, and everything else our hearts desired, especially our little Daisy, who really knows how to make the best out of a freakishly frigid October day:

Totally agree! It was a very strange storm!! In CT…power will be out for days…even worse than Hurricane Irene! Glad you all are snuggled in nice and warm!

I’m watching the late news as I’m writing this, and I just saw a report on the toll the storm took on CT. Yikes! We were very fortunate not to lose power, but over half a million residents in the northern part of our state did. Hope you get power back soon!

Ice stinks! You were lucky not to have lost power. So many on the east-coast did. Hot cider and movies sounds fun. 🙂

Brrr – it looks very cold RD, but has come much too early. I’ll be thinking of you all wrapped up nice and warm, drinking your cocoa, warm apple cider and playing games!
Daisy has the right idea – sleeping through it!

Talk about a truly horrifying Halloween! Hang in there!

  5. That is absolutely bizzare! I am puzzled by the strange weather we’re all encountering. Over here, we’re receiving unusually high volumes of rain for this time of the year—enough to cause flash floods in some parts of the island. We’re also homebound at the moment. A toasty warm mug of apple cider sounds inviting. I might just make myself a cup of comfort tea, too!

Flash floods are scary business, I hope they’re not threatening the area where you live. I agree, the weather has been extreme in lots of places….I’m starting to wonder if we should build an ark….or a giant sled…. 😉

Woof! Woof! Hope it is all OVER!!! I guess it will be a COLD n Snowy Winter. Happy Halloween. Have a safe FUN Howl-o-ween! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

    • raisingdaisy says:

I agree, Sugar, I think we’re in for a r-r-ruff winter! We’re excited that it’ll be 55 degrees today, though, and we’re hoping all the little kiddies will still come around for their candy. We love Halloween! Hope you have a fun one too! 😀

  7. Chancy, Mumsy and Crew says:

Oh, we don’t like ice. Sorry about the pumpkins and the tomatoes. You all stay warm and safe. Daisy you had the perfect idea for a cold, icy day. Hugs and nose kisses

  8. Wowsers!! It looks pretty chilly over there, yesterday here Dad was putting up the last of the scary stuff outside and couldn’t believe how HOT it was, yep they’re all still wearing T-shirts and shorts!

I’d prefer your weather, given my fur coat! I love that you all got to snuggle up and chill out, guessing Daisy’s Halloween costume will be an Eskimo outfit?

Have a fun day and stay warm,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

Weather has gone crazy all over the world.
I saw the sun for the first time in weeks just now!

Daisy looks like the perfect cuddlebug! 🙂 And wow — that’s Snowtober for you! We just got lots of sleet and freezing rain, no snow (yet!).
