No, we’re not talking about our sweet little friend Coccolino, Daisy loves him and would never hurt him! We’re talking about a very short-lived addition to Daisy’s toy box.
We thought Daisy’s Destructo-Pup days were over. She’s been less aggressive with her toys over the past several months, so much so that we gave her a soft toy to play with again.
She did so well with it that we gave her another.
And another.
Daisy LOVES soft toys with squeakers and crunchy sounds, but she always used to disassemble them within 20 minutes, including those supposedly indestructible tiger-tested toys.
But this year a friend of ours, underestimating the hidden destructive tendencies within our little cutie, gave her a hollow plastic piggy. Not a good idea. It turned our mellowing Havachon back into rabid Destructo-Pup – it was like watching a pretty girl transform into a werewolf.
Unfortunately we didn’t discover this wild transformation until the piggy had been….well, brutalized. And partially devoured.
Poor thing never really stood a chance. ::sigh:: I guess you can never truly vanquish those Destructo-Pup demons.
We’re part of the Monday Mischief Blog Hop! Follow the link and join the fun!

Daisy, we are the same, No stuffies for me and I had one of those piggies, lt was bacon in 5 mins..BOL
xx00xx
Have a wonderful Monday
Mollie and Alfie
Haha We’re like two peas in a pod!
I don’t get stuffed toys – they fall apart! Daisy was framed!
LOL That’s her defense as well!
Once a destructo pup……always a destructo pup.BOL
Haha That’s so true!
Nothing like a good de-stuffing or a shredding. Have a marvelous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Every pup needs one now and then.
If you would remove the eyes of the piggy too – it could be the three wise monkeys in one person (see no evil-hear no evil-speak no evil)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Phew! Cocco was getting a little worried. How funny that sweet little Daisy is such a destructo pup! Guess it’s hard to get over the habit of a good old toy mauling
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Yes, those old tendencies still shine through occasionally! I guess it just takes the right catalyst.
I think this is not a Monday Mischief but an Everyday Mischief – and the delinquent is not Daisy (she is, as always, totally innocent as everybody knows) but the scale. The correct scale of destruction is not 1-10 but 1-10-Battle-…-Tiger-…-100-…-1000-…-10000-…-Destructo-Pup-grade (= close to infinity).
Haha Your scale is much more realistic!
7 years along and I’m afraid Litchi will still do the same thing to any material type toy. Good luck with Daisy, although at least she sounds like she’s slowly improving.
I think some dogs just enjoy taking things apart – they’re probably engineers at heart! LOL
Yes, Daisy has definitely gotten more mellow with her soft toys over the past year. I guess there was just something about this little piggy that she couldn’t resist.
I think Daisy has hidden stress and must need to rip into her toys for relief. You are so right, though! She doesn’t have a violent expression…what’s going on behind those gentle eyes? Does she growl and make noises while she’s tearing into them, or is she just “silent, but deadly?” LOL!
Nope, just a quiet little destruction machine.
Actually I think we could all take a lesson from Daisy about how to live stress-free, she’s the most laid-back pup I know (except when she sees a squirrel LOL!
Who would have thunk such destruction could come in such a small cute package.
We came home today and our destructo pup had chewed two rugs and the carpet…and he was in a crate. Tsk tsk…what to do? lol
Wow, now that’s REAL talent to be able to chew things from within a crate!
Well we wired the pan in his crate to the sides so he cannot slide it and we put a board under the crate. Hope it works!
I tried to answer your question from last week in today’s post.
Sounds like a good solution. I loved your answer to my question, I learned a lot from it.
Hey Daisy,
I get it buddy – from when I was about 18 months old I started doing that too, but only to new toys, I’ve got lots of forever toys that are pawfect – Mum finds it very confusing!
Have you seen Emma’s stuffie hospital? She’s doing emergency surgery on them all – think I might send mine over!
Big wags you mischief master,
Your pal Snoopy
Hey there Snoops! No I hadn’t heard about the stuffie hospital, what a great idea! I’ll have to get Mom to check it out.
Rafi loves those – he can spend a whole evening studying ‘anatomy’ – keeps him happy for a short time!
LOL I like how you put that – “studying anatomy”! That’s what I’ll tell Mom I’m doing!
OMD those evil birds are about framing doggies again. Keep an eye out Daisy, they are sneaky!!
They sure are! And they’re always so close to the house because of the bird feeder in the back yard – I keep telling Mom they’re nothing but trouble! You’re right Misaki, it’s their fault!
Oh, that poor piggy! That smarts!
Rita is funny – she’s gentle with most of her toys and they last forever, but every once in a while, there’s a toy that she decides she MUST KILL. Not a squeaker/noise-maker issue – don’t know what it is. Maybe they have a certain smell. Who knows what goes through her little head…
Happy belated Monday Mischief!
If we could only figure out these pups’ thought patterns, we’d be well ahead of the game! I guess that shroud of mystery will always work to their advantage….theirs, not ours!
Poor Piggy! Can’t say that we wouldn’t have done the same thing with that piggy! Mom won’t buy us squeaker toys because we destroy them…one and all!
Apparently they’re irresistible!
Hi Daisy! Oh no, your poor piggy! Hopefully you can another one, hehe. I have done the same thing to a few of my squeaky toys too. XOXO. Woofee.
Hi Ralph! So nice to meet you! I don’t think I’m going to be getting another piggy, but I’m sure I’ll get more stuffed buddies!
Well nobody’s perfect, and I’m sure she’s fine now…
Daisy’s fine and still treating her stuffies with respect, but that poor little piggy will never be the same.
auch!!!! I hate to be that pig.
you said devoured, so she swallowed it? is that okay for her stomach?
We were really worried about that too Novroz, and we watched her all night. But surprisingly (and happily!) there was no harm done and she was absolutely normal. Thank goodness!
Wow, sweet Daisy you gave those stuffies and worken-over! And that pig….well, you fixed him right up didn’t you? I chewed the ear off one of my hedge hogs the other day but I usually don’t chew up my buddies. Mumsy says I must a been mad at her. lol Play on sweet Daisy! Hugs and nose kisses. Chancy
Sometimes we dogs just gotta do what a dog’s gotta do….
O
Poor little piggy! I wonder what he said to make Daisy so angry?
Haha I never thought of that!
She likes going for the limbs doesn’t she, lol, it’s a good thing if Coco doesn’t see the lastpicture lol, might give her nightmares!!
LOL!!!! We wouldn’t want that!
Daisy could qualify for UFC!
